You might be here if…

  • The same disagreement keeps resurfacing in different clothes.
  • One of you pursues and the other withdraws, and neither of you means to.
  • Trust was broken and you both want to know whether it can be rebuilt.
  • You are parenting well together but have stopped being a couple.
  • You are deciding whether to stay, and want help thinking clearly.

How I work with couples.

I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy to find the cycle underneath the fight, and on practical repair skills that make the next conversation go differently. Early sessions map the pattern; later ones give you room to practice something new while I am there to slow it down.

Sessions are fifty minutes, usually weekly at first. I meet with you together; occasionally I will suggest one individual session each so I understand what you each bring to the pattern.

Questions couples ask.

What if only one of us wants to come?
Start anyway. Individual work on a relationship is real work, and partners often join later.
Will you take sides?
No. The pattern between you is the client, not either one of you.
Can we do this by video?
Yes, anywhere in California, including from two different locations when schedules demand it.
